Benjamin Larger

I have always found it difficult to choose between thinking and making.

I started with computing, then learned cabinetmaking, spent time with the Compagnons du Devoir, studied wood manufacturing and later attended the École Supérieure du Bois. I worked in design offices, ran workshops and production teams, made staircases, organized factories, renovated buildings and eventually returned to my own workshop.

Over the years I have learned one thing above all: a good tool should disappear behind the work it helps you do.

That is what guides Bois Joli Création today.

I still work with wood, make things and experiment. And when digital tools become too complicated, too expensive or too far removed from the trade, I try to build different ones.

Simple, affordable and open tools, designed from the workshop for people who really work with materials.

I do not want to set tradition against technology. I simply like the idea that they can move forward together.
